(for real, this album kicks ass! great for casual listening & mood-setting for tabletop RPGs. Looking forward to Vol. 3!) Favorite track: Forest, Miasma, Shifting.

swchad A wonderful work that perfectly captures the essence of Akira Yamaoka as well as putting his own flavor into it. My favorite horror track is Warehouse, Vertical, Hungry as it has lots of unnatural sounds and jarring industrial noises and synths that chill to the bone. While my favorite more chill track is Branches, Descending, Sleep it's more somber and spooky tones allow for a strange calm feeling while still being very strange and off-putting. Favorite track: Warehouse, Vertical, Hungry.

plove I really enjoyed that. I chose Teeth, Endless, Wanting because I feel like it was the most straight up creepy. Also, it reminded me just a bit of an old favorite, "Hamburger Lady" by Throbbing Gristle. Favorite track: Teeth, Endless, Wanting.

WertherAlice This album made the atmosphere of October and Halloween 2019 so special to me! Discovering these tracks throughout the month, along with the eerie pictures and captions that went along with them was a true joy.

about

An album compilation of the tracks I produced from October 1-31, 2019, as part of #AtmosphericHorrorMonth on Twitter.

I have an interest in horror sound design and the atmospheric beauty of the Silent Hill series' soundtracks, and in lieu of being hired for a horror project, I decided to take this October to finish some half-ideas and exercise creepiness daily. Or as much as I could. I ended up with 15 tracks of very different style, and I'm proud of every one of them. Thanks for grabbing this, and check the YouTube playlist to see the images I made or was inspired by for each one. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaxFoZ8rz3_cohCIkKClEqhB8cNA3wnFV

released October 31, 2019

Tracks 10, 12 and 15 were inspired by the art of Trevor Henderson.
Thanks to Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka for a career of inspiring music that has let me see horror in a different way and made it feel like a place I could belong. Thanks also to Fatal Frame, Siren and the work of David Lynch and Dean Hurley for helping get me into this mindset.
